FiberLight believes it is important to understand and respond to the environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts of our business operations and activities.
We believe that integrating ESG issues into our strategic decision-making and operations is congruent with the responsibility we have to our stakeholders and is critical to us achieving our long-term commercial goals. This includes meeting investor expectations and striving for best practice outcomes where possible.
Strategic Objectives & Policy Commitments
Health & Safety
- Maintaining a safety-aware culture ensuring proper standards of workplace health and safety for our employees and other key stakeholders visiting, or working, at our assets and operations, including in consideration of our supply chain
- Implementing best-practice health and safety management system in line with a global standard
- Reporting on our health and safety indicators regularly
Diversity
- Promoting an inclusive workplace that fosters open communication, collaboration and personal growth and that embraces all forms of diversity
- Setting targets at the Board, Executive and Senior Management levels to ensure our diversity commitments are met
- Developing a Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Strategy to implement
- Reporting on our progress towards targets at least annually
Employee Engagement
- Creating a workplace culture that attracts, develops, retains and supports our employees, supporting local employment.
- Providing our employees with the information, training and support necessary to respond to, and meet our sustainability objectives
- Understanding, managing and reducing our environmental impact through efficient use of resources including energy, waste and pollution.
- Developing targets and strategies to enhance the environmental performance of our [business/operations/portfolio/assets/developments] including energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
- Setting a net zero emissions target and pathway for scope 1 and 2 emissions
- Measuring scope 3 emissions and minimizing where practicably possible
- Working with our supply chain to monitor, measure and reduce environmental impact of their operations
Customer Engagement
- Ensuring continual engagement with customers, to support our commercial positioning, inform our strategy and ensure their continual satisfaction with an aim to continually improve and communicate in a transparent way
Risk Management & Mitigation
- Ensuring corporate and company policies cover key risks and opportunities to support the delivery of initiatives that preserve and enhance the value of the business, such as in relation to cybersecurity, data protection and privacy, fraud, delegation of authority and executive compensation, lobbying activities, and political contributions
- Ensuring corporate and company policies support employee and stakeholder wellbeing, such as in relation to conflict of interest, whistleblowing, shareholder rights
